About us

Our story
Paul Raymond founded the Raymond Revuebar in 1952 and expanded into publishing and property in the 1960s and 1970s. After his death in 2008, his granddaughters, Fawn and India James, inherited the family business. Soho Estates now focuses on redeveloping properties in Soho, with completed projects like Ilona Rose House and ongoing developments in Leicester Square and around Soho. Through meticulous restoration and thoughtful redevelopment, we strive to breathe new life into each facet of our estate while preserving its inherent essence and integrity. At Soho Estates, we have a vibrant past and an even brighter future.

Our responsibility
At Soho Estates we embrace our responsibility as stakeholders and our influence on the growth and development of the vibrant community of Soho. We prioritise the conservation of the iconic area and are committed to maintaining our buildings, ensuring they remain fit for purpose while preserving their heritage. One notable example is 75 Dean Street, a historic building that, after being ravaged by fire and left vacant for eight years, has been meticulously restored to near its original state and now operates as a Soho House Club. We consider ourselves custodians rather than developers, dedicated to the stewardship of properties that require careful attention to endure and thrive.

Real impact in
real estate
Soho is renowned for its dynamic ability to reinvent itself with minimal intervention. It stands as a beacon of tolerance and inclusion - a place that gives refuge to the displaced, the lost and the lonely. We work to maintain this. At Soho Estates we recognise the impact that real estate development can have on local communities and the planet, and we strive to minimise any negative impact while maximising the positive contributions we can make. We have a longstanding policy of supporting new businesses and resisting the encroachment of chain establishments. This approach has fostered a thriving environment where independent enterprises can flourish. The success of these businesses is a testament to our commitment and pride. A recent highlight of our development efforts is the Manette Street project, a building that exemplifies BREEAM excellence. This development provides state-of-the-art office space, attracting new tenants and invigorating the Soho community. We are dedicated to enriching and maintaining Soho’s heritage and community for generations to come.

Strengthening
our community
At Soho Estates, we support many local charities and projects, tackling issues affecting communities within Soho. In addition to our charitable contributions, we offer space in vacant units to non-profit organisations, community groups, and start- ups. These organisations enrich the neighbourhood with their energy and creativity, providing space and opportunities for those who are often unable to afford the operational costs otherwise.
